Repair shop owner sues CNN, Daily Beast and Politico over ‘Russian disinformation’ allegations regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop

The owner of the laptop repair store at the center of the content publication of abandoned Hunter Biden hardware is now suing CNN, the daily beastand POLITICS for defamatory damages that cost him his life amid claims that the story was “Russian disinformation”.

Hunter Biden first dropped off his laptop in April 2019, but forgot about it. Mac Isaac shared the laptop data with the FBI in December of that year, before Rudy Giuliani obtained it and the New York Post broke the story in October 2020.

Mac Isaac’s lawsuit was filed in Montgomery County, Maryland. The plaintiff is both seeking damages for the impact it has had on his professional life, but he is also seeking to clear his name from the public eye by pursuing the lawsuit.

“After fighting to reveal the truth, all I want now is for the rest of the country to know that there was a collective and orchestrated effort by social and mainstream media to block a true story. with real consequences for the nation,” Mac Isaac said. in a statement to New York Post.

“It was a collusion carried out by 51 former stalwarts of the intelligence community and backed by the words and actions of a politically motivated DOJ and FBI. I want this trial to expose that collusion and, more importantly, who gave marching orders.

Mac Isaac singled out Adam Schiff of the House Intelligence Community for pushing the baseless claims in a last-ditch effort to protect the Biden family’s reputation.

The dispute concerns the initial refoulement against the first New York Post story after its debut. Here’s a rundown of the moments of interest cited in Isaac’s lawsuit against the outlets in question:

  • CNN“CNN’s broadcast of the false statement accuses the plaintiff of having committed an infamous crime, that is, treason by working with the Russians to commit a crime against the United States of America by attempting to undermine American democracy and the 2020 presidential election,” according to the lawsuit. This aspect of the situation concerns Isaac’s libel suits against Rep. Adam Schiff, when the Democrat, in an interview with Wolf Blitzer, claimed that the laptop story was staged by the Kremlin.
  • daily beast: The complaint filed by Isaac says the Daily Beast used the terminology to allege that Mac Isaac somehow stole Hunter Biden’s laptop and implied that it was not simply dumped.
  • POLITICS: This is the outlet that alleged 51 former intelligence officials believed the Hunter Biden story was Russian disinformation. “The article was written by journalist Natasha Bertrand, who apparently has a habit of turning speculation into fact in the stories she reports on,” the lawsuit alleges. It’s a report that was backed by White House press secretary Jen Psaki in the final weeks of the 2020 presidential election campaign. In early April, House Republicans sent a letter to each of these intelligence officials asking for answers on how they came to corroborate this claim.

The ramifications of the aforementioned establishment media reports forced Mac Isaac to shut down his Delaware repair shop after vandals dumped various food items and dog feces on the front of the property. The owner had to hide.

While Mac Isaac has been unsuccessful in his legal efforts against Twitter, former CEO Jack Dorsey previously said publicly that it was a mistake for his site to censor the initial New York Post narrative.

People have repeatedly called Isaac a “lackey” for Russian President Vladimir Putin since the media named in the lawsuit made the accusations public. The death threats and postal harassment directed at the former owner of the repair shop echoed this theme and cost him his public reputation, according to the lawsuit.

The attorney representing Mac Isaac, Brain Della Rocca, said his client was seeking “at least $1 million in compensatory damages.” [and] punitive damages which will be the much higher number and will be determined at trial.”

the To post reports that the nonprofit group The America Project is supporting Isaac’s efforts with this lawsuit.

The Department of Homeland Security secretary stands by his decision to appoint Nina Jankowicz to head the DHS disinformation committee, despite her track record of supporting the false allegations at the center of Isaac’s trial.

After the “mainstream media” publicly mocked the legitimacy of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, places like the New York Times and the Washington Post eventually independently confirmed for themselves that it was the real deal.

It was later revealed that Hunter Biden likely lost possession of more than one laptop.
